Approaching big decisions is tough. Sometimes we think if we had just one more piece of information we could make the perfect decision, thus delaying
one's commitment to your goal indefinitely. We often wish we could read the future and know whether we will be happy with our choice or if our economic
assumptions will carry through the long term.
Jessica will help you sort through all the information, including your feelings, goals, vision, dreams, thoughts, biases, and spirit to help
you make the choices that ultimately serve to bring you closer to your life vision and purpose.
Major Projects
Is there a large project (proposal, budget, yearly report, or some major Life decision) that is looming ahead of you? Working on big projects can be
a frustrating process. There is often a sense of perfectionism that pervades one's thinking, This has to impress my supervisors. This has to answer
all the questions
or be perfect, and so forth. Sometimes negotiating or working with a difficult person is a stumbling block.
Sometimes the task at hand seems so overwhelming that just getting started seems to be impossible.
There are ways to make the journey toward your goal easier, more enjoyable and more fulfilling. You don't have to give up your life for your project.
You can make steady progress and still live a balanced life.
Jessica will be your partner in the struggle to complete that big project (in whatever area of your Life), offer support as you confront that
difficult person, task or goal, and help you find your inner motivation to work toward your vision. Jessica will also help you stay balanced and
healthy throughout this process. She can help you weigh the sacrifice with the benefit and help you make sure the sacrifices don't take you
farther away from your vision and dreams.
Stress and Anxiety
Do you experience stress and anxiety? Do you get anxious or stressed about your commitments, public speaking, deadlines, responsibilities and
obligations, or have difficulty challenging or questioning someone, or have procrastination anxiety, etc.?
There are simple and effective ways to deal with these stumbling blocks. You may not be able to control the difficulty of the project or someone's
personality, but you do have complete control of your own reaction to any stressful situation. You can choose to respond in a healthy way. You can
choose to take care of yourself so that you have the energy and reserves to deal effectively with the expected and unexpected challenges that you face.

I have been there. I worked many long hours and invested many years in my graduate education in Counseling Psychology. At the same time, I also dealt
with financial strain, difficult faculty members, relationship stress, bad roommates, numerous deadlines, projects, public speaking, etc.
I have managed a large research project and supervised a staff of up to 19 people. I dealt with all of the typical challenges of management including:
difficult employees, disgruntled consumers, staff turnover, stress, budget constraints, huge looming reports, competition, etc.
I also developed some of the best relationships I have ever had, married, had two wonderful children, traveled and had a life. I look very fondly on
my work as a student and as a project manager. I made a difference in others lives.
My wish for you is that you also are able to look back on your career and life experience as fulfilling personally as well as professionally. My wish
is for you to enjoy your life now and be able to look forward to a full and balanced life in the future.

Jessica's Coaching Philosophy
Most people know what they need to do. They've been told or have told themselves to lose weight, exercise more, eat healthy foods,
see a physician, stop smoking, exercise intellectual curiosity, play more, have more fun, create balance, manage stress, etc. But, they don't do it.
As a coach, my particular talent is in helping others see options and nuances that they did not see before. I am able
to synthesize a theme from many different elements. I am able to help my clients create solutions. I can help my clients increase their creativity
in every day life. There are many kinds of creativity, not just the artistic kind. Everyone is creative in some way. Many people have lost touch with
their innate sense of creation. I will help you reconnect with that joy that comes of living creatively.
I am very skilled at using my intuition to see the big picture and to home in on what is really needed in the moment to keep moving toward your goals.
I am able to help you focus on the blocks that may be keeping you from reaching your goals. You will be able to see options for actions that you
did not know were available to you. You will increase your ability to choose your actions rather than automatically reacting to whatever situations
present themselves to you.
If you want to make lifestyle changes in order to improve your long-term health status or to adjust to a change in your health, I can
encourage and support you to do the things that we all find difficult to do.
What I Offer You in Coaching
As your coach I will commit myself to your vision.
I will hold your vision and the goals that arise from your vision in the forefront of our work together. Some peoples goals and vision are
vague (I want more out of life, I want more balance, etc.) Some have very specific goals (I want to increase my financial cushion by 50% by the end
of the year, I want to change my diet and exercise habits so that my long term health outlook is enhanced.) Whatever your goals are, we can work
together by deciding what specific actions you can take to reach those goals. We may brainstorm options, we may do research, we may just spend
some time in the moment, but you will always be moving in a direction of your choosing.
It is easy to become distracted from long-term goals. Instant gratification is so much more tempting, but often is counter to what we want to
accomplish in the long term.
I can provide the support, encouragement, structure and accountability that you may need to make those long-term goals a reality.
Support: Some people think that support means agreement. Support in a coaching relationship means structure, a firm base from which to try out
new strategies, make small and large changes, to make mistakes safely, in other words to grow. Support involves accountability. I will hold you
accountable to your dreams.
Encouragement literally means to en-heart-en, to focus on success, to have a fullness of spirit that will sustain your energy as you are
making new choices and doing things you always wanted to do.
Education: I will teach you some of the skills necessary to weather difficult times, to manage stress and maintain balance throughout the
process of dreaming, deciding, and doing.
My goal is to provide the support, encouragement, education and structure to make those long-term lifestyle goals and
wishes a permanent part of your life. I want you to live a long, healthy and lively life.
